My mom always told me ‘When you give, you get much more in return’. When I was a little girl, I have to tell you the truth, that really confused me. I thought, ‘Hey mom, all I want is that Barbie dream house.’ But as I have grown into the young woman that I hope makes her proud, this piece of advice always sticks out to me. In a world that is obsessed with moment to moment self-gratification and hitting the maximum amount of likes and shares, sometimes we need to be reminded of the core who we are. We need to thank the people who have helped us become who we are today.
Think of the last time you received a gift ‘just because’, that joy and feeling of being special is something you can’t forget. An unexpected note in the mail or gift from a friend who has returned from travelling can give you a surge of excitement.
My challenge for you, find a way to tell someone you are thinking of them this month. Stop and appreciate the beautiful moments and blessings you have. As my mom always says, when you give, you get much more in return.
